Introduction Jack Demarest is an architectural designer and artist based out of Atlanta, Georgia. He sees the built environment as a series of parts and wholes, interrelated and overlapping. To him, the city is a collection of people, their relationships, and their architectures. Inversely, he conceives of the work of architecture as a node in the tapestry of the city, intended to serve both its specified inhabitants as well as the stakeholders of the wider urban fabric.

Jack draws from an interdisciplinary background in architecture, graphic design, urban design, real estate, and music. Through design, he seeks to promote community, spontaneity, playfulness, and interpersonal joy. His range of work includes social housing in both urban and rural settings, cultural works such as galleriesand retreat centers, higher education, early education, and art installations at the Georgia Institute of Technology campus.

Outside of the studio, Jack enjoys cycling, travelling, sketching, collaging, making music, watching movies, reading fiction and theory, gardening, and playing with animals.
